@sun perhaps this is already implemented - but since you can be neighbors with people, you might want to add some kind of topological constraint, so the neighbor graph would make sense in real life. i.e. no impossible situations where everyone is neighbors with everyone.
@sun Adding another layer, right now, once you decipher which crop is the best you have no reason to plant anything else if you want money. Perhaps some crops have more possibility of getting you an oversized harvest than others so you get more coins, or some of them are usable as currency which makes planting them some useful investment.

Can you had chickens (cattle grazing) and rotating culture for the land plots as a fertilization bonus ?
You could also add land plot desertification if you don't do any kind of organic fertilization.

@anemone next major change is I am separating harvesting from selling, you can always sell at a market rate but there is a global order list of randomly generated orders for different things you can compete to fill

@genmaicha @sun to whit you should also be able to customize fences with your neighbor, have a choice of drywall, picket, post and rail, wire and barbed wire, hedgerows, windbreak plantations, with color options.
