The more time passes the more sure I am that Trump loves his legacy more than he loves himself.

I think he has the right idea. I would that every public official was proud enough of what he did to put his name on things and build monuments.

That’s both US parties at this point. Only the horrible state of the democrats makes the Republicans seem meaningfully better. Which is only by default.

They forced out the necessary autists to please woke trash. So this is what they requested.
I haven’t been bullish about open source’s future since SystemD. I held my nose and played along bit but it was pretty clear that the rot was only going to get worse.

The issue isn’t whether he was a hardass. It’s whether he inspired loyalty and effectiveness from his crew. He did neither and that hurts the whole.
That said, he didn’t have time to build the needed trust. Usually a temporary or brevet promotion for the XO would achieve that quicker unless there’s a damn good reason to bring in an outsider. During a war there’s usually a shortage of experienced captains during a war but a flagship like Enterprise would carry an admiral with his staff. That’s what a flagship is and why it’s called that. It also gives an XO put in command a mentor and advisor.
This isn’t Star Trek specific and is generally what you see in wars in navies.

Maybe calling your opponents Nazis has resulted in them supporting whatever name you insist on forcing on them on a consistent bases. Funny that.

Solutions on these scales seem to take away the struggles that bring both pain and joy to the average person. For every small win we take out of daily life we somehow fill that role with something miserable. And the pains, I hires you could at least say they were comprehensible. Now they’re distant and insurmountable.

Marx and Luther are prime examples of being the one to publish a concise description of problems but making the narcissistic retard assumption that this qualifies them to dictate the correct solution

I took years to accept the awful word "blog" and only then because it was entirely unavoidable. Scrobble was too lame to get embraced on that level, but with things getting more retarded over time, that may get worse and it may find its way back into having a shot at the mainstream and I'll be stuck having to allow it in the most grudging possible fashion

The illusion died with Janet Jackson for most people I think. They were undisputed as the biggest televised event of the year that everyone would watch and then talk about the next day at work. The halftime show used to be about having the biggest spectacle for its own sake. Now they have to invite controversy to even get talked about.

Even before that there hadn't been a good one in a while.
As far as MTV I think they just cut a lot of channels doing music videos from what it looks like, not fully not broadcasting anymore. Nobody cares though because youtube killed the very idea.
