@sun Does it have any games, tho?
@hfaust @moth_ball is Baron Papanoida replacing Dexxter Jettster?
@bajax @RustyCrab @scathach I've always taken it to mean that no word, concept, or idea in and of itself should ever be criminalized or forbidden. Second order consequences emerging from the use of said words, concepts, or ideas being considered separate issues in their own right.
Hence the "shouting fire in a crowed theater" argument... obviously the second order consequences of knowingly initiating a stampede are not (and shouldn't be) protected, even if the word "fire" or the concept of fires aren't illegal.
@moth_ball @hfaust The cover says 2500 questions, not 2500 answers
@sun Proposal: rebrand "Funkwhale" to "Fuckwhale"
Bluesky is Embrace/Extend/Extinguishing itself? Almost impressive...
@ehhh @sun @DarkMahesvara @MoeBritannica BlueSky uses a protocol called ATProto, but the only real self-hosted part is the "Personal Data Server" (PDS), which hosts your account data. The components that control the social feed and the relaying of messages is largely controlled by the BlueSky devs.
It's a lot like what LBRY/Odysee did... technically your account data can be self-hosted and portable, but the cost and difficulty of self hosting the relay/feed portion is beyond the reach of most individuals, so the only ones who can afford to do it are larger organizations with deeper pockets. Technically decentralized on paper, but de facto centralized in practice.
