My mindset was "It's okay that it's more expensive to buy because if I rent all I'm doing is paying someone else's mortgage"

I had an apartment for maybe 10 months.

Suffer now to benefit later. I am in my 3rd house now. Another fixer-upper but from my work put into my previous two homes, I am able to do what I want generally. I don't know man. Hard work pays off. I'm not a boomer either I'm 31.

@prettygood @pwm @tyler @Hyperhidrosis it’s a lot more possible with the VA still paying lip service to veterans but even that’s getting untenable. If I bought the house 3 doors down with the exact same floor plan as mine I’d actually pay more in mortgage and that’s before down payment, PMI, etc AND I’d have to fix the fence myself instead of making the landcuck do it

@tyler @Hyperhidrosis @prettygood theoretically if you save and invest the money you would have otherwise spent, you come out even but for now I split a house with a family member (they own it) so it's a sweet deal. If I had a real job it would be a no brainer but I don't so we ball onward.
