I think Trump is the master troll. In the same week that members of his cabinet were citing the two-century figure for the lifespan of democracies, he kicked off "America 250" celebrations.

I find it dubious to have a heavenly authority on Earth... the worlds are incompatible for a reason.
Generally speaking, protestantism removes enough dogma to enable focus on the substance of the religion.
That may have killed it, but this may be inevitable... the "spiritual but not religious" category has grown a lot over the last fifty years for a reason.
As Nietzsche pointed out, when you implement dualistic faith, you also remove the real-world utility of your faith.
