I mean, I use ffmpeg to convert files, but to edit files I just use shotcut. It is overkill but I've never found a better editor on linux. The other ones (like da vinci resolve or blender) are even more bloated than it, so it's just what I've settled for.

It's cope from other state residents to say California sucks. It's easily a top 3 state, along with New York (For NYC alone) and Texas.
California literally has Los Angeles AND San Fransisco. It's like if New York had two New York Cities. California's GDP is literally bigger than the GDP of Japan, India or the UK. It probably has as much cultural export as an entire country.
When people say Cali is one of the worst states, you have to wonder, by what metric? It's just pure cope and resentment. People love to hate the best.

I get what you were saying, it does seem pretty insensitive, and I wouldn't have worded it like that either. (I mean, I wouldn't have brought it up at all, at least till the next day)

To play devil's advocate, I think that's an uncharitable interpretation of his words.
If he'd posted "It's been two years today since George Floyd died", half the comments would be asking about the shooting instead. So, he clearly made the decision to circumvent that by mentioning it first in his tweet that was primarily about George Floyd.

The "As we grieve..." part was clearly a segue, not meant as a dismissal of the shooting.
