@coon maybe, I don't know, but doctors seem to think it's real right now.

@coon @sun Well depression (being in a depressed state) is real, and post partum (the period after giving birth) is as well, so post partum depression is just not a surprising thing, it's a difficult period for everyone involved, including the mother.
I don't know if it's anything more special than that.

@Mark @coon I honestly was not trying to excuse killing your kid because of depression anyway, it's still a crime.

Real - maybe probably not to that extent certainly no valid reason
Recognized - yeah but isn't SIDs also? We all know authority figures will make up excuses for inconvenient truths.
