Tyler told me about it because he had a sailor with a pen stabbing his mouth to pop out tonsil stones on the desk on night-check one night. I was like

@madison @nihilvt @JollyR @cosmonautkatyusha I have always had huge tonsils but never got a tonsilectomy or whatever the word is shutup autocorrect it's close enough I'm sure ANYWAY one of them has a bit of a divot or whatnot and so I get to deal with the lovely experience of tonsil stones every once in a while 
i've never had anything removed from my body that is supposed to be there.

I'm not sure why tonsillectomies were a thing that people did but I remember multiple people getting them; I don't recall hearing about anyone who had to get one because it was life-threatening so I'm not sure what that was about

they said that about the apendix too, but just cuz you can lvie without it doesn't mean it has no purpose and they found that it does in fact have a purpose.

I have all four of my wisdom teeth removed under full Anesthesia mainly because I have trauma from teeth pulling when I was a child. And I wanted to get it Uber within one go.
