Working nights in foodservice I literally just eat at work on my days on and cup noodle/the odd 3 ingredient or so meal the days off, and I shop at publix for that shit because they e always got like 8 lanes of moderately attractive women there to take your money

@ins0mniak @bajax @Owl we are actually expected to eat a full meal every shift (I eat several small ones) and I work 4, soon 5 nights a week. Basically 0 grocery bills as a consequence. Not a bad deal so long as you're careful not to eat super unhealthy when you're on the clock.

@ins0mniak @bajax @Owl plus in an excellent cook within our bounds, so I eat good. I'm gonna start bringing my own veggies tho because ours have no discernable taste.
@ins0mniak @bajax @Owl they actually dock our pay a certain amount every shift to account for the meals we are expected to eat. It's diabolical.
@awl @bajax @ins0mniak @Owl nah. Some items if we eat them we do have to pay a reduced price (a couple are 1:1 for customers even) but I never get those. I eat for like 3 bucks a day on days I work, because that how much they dock me.

@awl @bajax @ins0mniak @Owl I used to work in a govt office and they had the nastiest coffee and I drank that shit by the half gallon all day long. I'm happy the work coffee is at least "people would pay for this" grade

@pwm @ins0mniak @Owl @awl not office ones. tiny little 4-cup deals that everyone leaves the coffee grounds inside over the weekend so they mold and make the coffee from it stink no matter how much you scrub (yay porous plastic!)
