I'm fascinated and inspired by the free and open web and have really enjoyed my time on the Fediverse. I'm passionate about #decentralization and censorship resistance, and like to put what I learn to practice.
Over the last few years, my gears have shifted to an intense (natural) #WeightLoss mission. I'm down almost 280lbs down from 570. Being so large was very difficult and I've learned a lot getting to this point.

It's actually quite hard to put into words what this means to me, but for the first time since around 2018, I've finally gotten on my bike and went for a ride. 🚴
It's no finish line, but I now really feel like this long arduous weight loss journey's work has finally paid off.

What's a field/domain you're suspicious hasn't actually made any progress in decades?
Prediction: We're seeing large amounts of people (re)turning to religion in hopes of finding the things society has largely discarded: community, meaning, and support. In some cases these people will encounter many of the things that caused people to fall away from religion in the first place. Those people are going to be the most dangerously radicalized people, far beyond anything we've seen so far.
I think that this will be used as the pretext for the overt acceptance of pre-crime totalitarianism.
Trying to fit in with unpleasable people is a recipe for disaster

@sun the government attempts to restrict privacy in the encryption wars and the fight against file sharing really look like preparation for this technology in hindsight.
But maybe I'm too paranoid... 🤔
