I like the Protestants, mainly because the Catholics are insane, but generally, people involved with religion are insane.

We like the few exceptions, like Bruce Charlton, Eckhart, etc.

@amerika @Ree I like several aspects of the culture a lot more than catholics but ultimately it is rebellion against legitimate authority as well as illegitimate authority

I find it dubious to have a heavenly authority on Earth... the worlds are incompatible for a reason.

Generally speaking, protestantism removes enough dogma to enable focus on the substance of the religion.

That may have killed it, but this may be inevitable... the "spiritual but not religious" category has grown a lot over the last fifty years for a reason.

As Nietzsche pointed out, when you implement dualistic faith, you also remove the real-world utility of your faith.
