@sun @anemone @podcast unfortunately this doesn't count but I would certainly say you're an artist so you are one

@vriska @anemone @podcast I admit I'm heterodox but literally all my afk growing up artist friends are cautiously pro-ai where it's helpful

@vriska @anemone @podcast anyway like, I'm not even saying use AI to make your art for you, this person is pissed off that a paint program is "vibe coded". are we saying that its not art if you use a paint program now lol

@sun @anemone @podcast that's very silly of that person lmao

I think the problem with using AI for art is that it's lowered the barrier of entry and gatekeeping is actually good. It's the "let people enjoy things" cancer run rampant

@vriska @anemone @podcast I guess I agree or disagree depending on if you mean tool accessibility or just like, people using ai to make the art for them. I even do think to a limited extent using ai in the art process is okay but you can't just have it make the art for you

@sun @anemone @podcast I mean people using AI to make the art for them

@vriska @anemone @podcast its probably freeing up some meme opportunities but that's at best a side effect and I'm ok saying press the button to make a meme sucks.

@sun @anemone @podcast back in my day we used ms paint to make memes uphill both ways

@vriska @anemone @podcast you used to have to be able to pirate adobe photoshop to make memes, it was in fact a quality gate even if the memes were shitty quality

@sun @vriska @anemone @podcast
Wait so the art isn't made with ai but the program to make it is.

As someone who draws I do not see a problem here
