Egregoros

@podcast thanks for the rage, this person is a moron

@sun @podcast many cases of this for bluesky

@sun @podcast A Bluesky poster pretending the "artist" label has any worth, a moron? Imagine my shock.

@sun @podcast

@sun I do worry this revelation that bluesky is vibecoded will break blueskys containment for the craziest of them

@dielan @sun they're normalfags who can only use what's popular. They will just go to twitter if the containment is broken, it's not like they will come here and even if they did it would be to a censored mastodon instance that has more than half the fediverse on a shared blocklist with every troon server

@dielan @sun Fortunately mastodon.art can't get any loonier than it already is AND they're not going to migrate anywhere that federates with dark fedi.

@sun@shitposter.world @podcast@melonmancy.net what qualifies as an artist?

@anemone @podcast the sovereign decides

@anemone @podcast @sun if someone else calls you one

@vriska @anemone @podcast I identify as an artist

@sun @anemone @podcast unfortunately this doesn't count but I would certainly say you're an artist so you are one

@vriska @anemone @podcast I admit I'm heterodox but literally all my afk growing up artist friends are cautiously pro-ai where it's helpful

@vriska @anemone @podcast anyway like, I'm not even saying use AI to make your art for you, this person is pissed off that a paint program is "vibe coded". are we saying that its not art if you use a paint program now lol

@sun @anemone @podcast that's very silly of that person lmao

I think the problem with using AI for art is that it's lowered the barrier of entry and gatekeeping is actually good. It's the "let people enjoy things" cancer run rampant

@vriska @anemone @podcast I guess I agree or disagree depending on if you mean tool accessibility or just like, people using ai to make the art for them. I even do think to a limited extent using ai in the art process is okay but you can't just have it make the art for you

@sun @anemone @podcast I mean people using AI to make the art for them

@vriska @anemone @podcast its probably freeing up some meme opportunities but that's at best a side effect and I'm ok saying press the button to make a meme sucks.

@sun @anemone @podcast back in my day we used ms paint to make memes uphill both ways

@vriska @anemone @podcast you used to have to be able to pirate adobe photoshop to make memes, it was in fact a quality gate even if the memes were shitty quality

@sun @vriska @anemone @podcast
Wait so the art isn't made with ai but the program to make it is.

As someone who draws I do not see a problem here

@vriska @anemone @podcast @sun my parents say that i'm artistic but they have an accent so they always pronounce it with a soft r

@sun @podcast > use umoupen
i mean. its not open source.
though i did joke irl that artcraft should have copied flash/animate.

"we copied the thing adobe decided you can't even have anymore" is a whole different class of black eye, and paired with haxe for code it would basically mean flash is so back

@icedquinn @podcast "it's going to be buggy and crashy, use adobe animate instead" ok

@sun @podcast i just think it would have been a really funny flex because the alternative doesn't even exist so the anti ai crowd would literally be malding about "you should just have nothing and enjoy it!!!"

@icedquinn @podcast paint using your fingers

@sun @podcast that being said i only wish him well if he's gonna release it if it's just going to be proprietary slop i don't care rest in piss

@sun @icedquinn @podcast "At last it was made by a human!" regarding big-tech software.

Its a she/her, moron by defsult. Also bluesky user that still uses Xitter, iow: Dopamine addicted attention whore.
