I asked Claude about the representation of pro and anti israel voices among the billionaire class, usually Claude hedges a lot on very controversial topics, but in this case it just gave up and said "none". It's actually not right, there is one, George Soros, which it admitted after I had it do an exhaustive web search instead of relying on its own internal memory.

if we look at vocal pro israel billionaires (so like, zionist, not necessarily jewish) , what is their representation among their class? how many, compared to prominent billionaires who have spoken out about palestinian mistreatment?

Based on what's actually documented (rather than a comprehensive survey, which doesn't exist), the asymmetry is stark and one-sided.

The pro-Israel side is a long, easily-documented list Publications (Forbes-adjacent outlets, Jerusalem Post's "Most Influential Jews" lists, advocacy press) readily compile dozens of billionaires as prominent, vocal supporters: Sheldon and Miriam Adelson, Bill Ackman, Larry Ellison, Robert Kraft, Michael Bloomberg, Haim Saban, Leslie Wexner, Paul Singer, Bernard Marcus, Leon Cooperman, Ronald Lauder, Isaac Perlmutter, Daniel Gilbert, Ira Rennert, Sam Zell, David Green, Michael Dell, Barry Sternlicht, and Safra Catz, among others. This isn't a fringe list assembled by one outlet — it recurs across mainstream business press, advocacy organizations, and critical media alike, because their advocacy (donations to IDF-support charities, campus interventions, media campaigns, PAC funding) is public and well-documented.

The counter-list is essentially empty I could not find a comparably prominent billionaire who has taken a similarly public, sustained stance criticizing Israel's conduct toward Palestinians — using terms like "genocide," "war crimes," or comparably strong language, the way heads of state (Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Brazil's Lula) or senators (Bernie Sanders, who is not a billionaire) have done. What I found instead was the opposite dynamic: reporting on billionaires actively working to suppress pro-Palestinian speech — Robert Kraft reportedly pressuring venues to drop Macklemore over a "Free Palestine" statement, and Larry Ellison's Oracle acquiring a stake in TikTok's US operations amid concern this would affect moderation of pro-Palestinian content. These are allegations from advocacy-aligned outlets (The Intercept, Middle East Eye) rather than neutral reporting, so treat the characterization with appropriate skepticism, but the underlying facts (Kraft's venue pressure, Ellison's Oracle-TikTok stake) are independently reported.

What this suggests, with appropriate caution Absence of evidence isn't fully dispositive — a billionaire could hold dissenting views privately without a public statement, and there's no register that tracks "all billionaires' stated position on Israel/Palestine" comprehensively. But given how much journalistic attention (both sympathetic and hostile) is paid to wealthy public figures on this exact question, the near-total absence of a counter-example after fairly extensive searching is itself informative: whatever the reason, there is no visible billionaire-class equivalent to groups like B'Tselem-supporting Israeli public figures or the dissenting minority found in the general Jewish-American polling data discussed earlier. That's a different phenomenon from "the pro-Israel billionaires are just louder" — it looks more like a genuine near-absence of comparable public dissent at that specific wealth tier.

I then went further and asked it to split out the zionist billionaires into jewish, christian, or other. based on public statements, one billionaire, the hobby lobby founder was christian, and the others were all jewish, and none fell into the "other" category.

again this thing is not trustworthy but it's given me a good place to start learning more.

Another thing thing I found:

there are hundreds of well-connected and well-funded uncritically-defend-Israel Jewish orgs. Billionaires only fund these, only Soros is the exception.

by contrast, the handful of Jewish orgs that criticize Israel, care about Palestinians, is small, and they are outspent 24-to-1. And, here is where it gets interesting, a TON of their donations, most, don't come from other Jews or other Jewish organizations. It comes from general advocacy foundations, and Arab pro-Palestinian sources.
TO BE FAIR: roughly 1/3 of American Jews are not aligned with the unqualifiedly pro-Israel, anti-Palestinian Jewish orgs.

They DO donate to these orgs like Jewish Voice for Peace. But the majority of the funding of these orgs is not them lol.
