This place has gone downhill and X has recovered a lot, basically if x isn’t run by censorious jerks the value proposition of decentralized is weakened a lot

@sun a lot of the people who came here during the twitter migrations were sold on it being "twitter but not censored", and so they'll always naturally compare it to twitter, and when twitter "gets better" they will abandon it

I was sold on this place as being the closest thing I could get to old internet culture, and I'd say it still is, which is one of the reasons I stay

@binkle I staying too but there’s an observable decline compared to 2016-2018
