@augustus I have considered vibe coding a total libre replacement that can be loaded with custom assets. it's not that complicated of an app it's creating all the content and it would happily be populated with an actually good japanese lesson plan if I did it.
@ageha @sun @augustus Duolingo's system was never good. It uses translation too much and too many unnatural sentences.
Yeah the content is key, but it's not an easy problem to solve. i.e. I have a vocab flashcard deck I made myself I know very well. I added a second deck (pre-made) for the sake of time and I cannot memorize it as well, not even close. To me it seems that working on the content solidifies it much more in your mind.
I've made some tools to automate the most mechanical and time consuming parts, like downloading audios or getting frames from shows and that is very helpful tho

@MechaSilvio @ageha @sun @augustus the biggest problem with duolingo is that it rides on google's voice service to tell if you are pronouncing a word right.

@sickburnbro @MechaSilvio @augustus @ageha imo the biggest problem now is they just use AI to generate all the new content and it's literally just frequently fucking wrong
@sun @MechaSilvio @augustus @ageha that's exciting.
