that's 1.6 grand of solar panels btw

Everything about boats is 5 to 10 times more expensive than the normal version.
@weknowwhygary @CobaltSasquatch wait until you hear about the US taxes on solar panels just generally
@WandererUber @weknowwhygary @CobaltSasquatch I think you mean subsidies
@egirlyuumimain @weknowwhygary @CobaltSasquatch no I don't. A Chinese panel costs almost 3x in the US than what it costs anywhere else
Solar panels are based because they've created a colossal industrial demand for silver that will make me rich. Therefore I support removing all taxes, tariffs or whatever on chink panels so the people can be enabled to install them on every surface imaginable.
@Hoss @WandererUber @CobaltSasquatch @weknowwhygary Tbf its probably just the tariffs every green power is the most subsidized industry there is.
The best green power comes from glowing green rocks. Nuclear comeback tour gonna be lit.
@Hoss @CobaltSasquatch @weknowwhygary @WandererUber Those don't count
Brb shoving a reactor in my rv
@Dudebro @egirlyuumimain @CobaltSasquatch @weknowwhygary @WandererUber @Hoss That's always been my dream ..
@Dudebro @egirlyuumimain @CobaltSasquatch @weknowwhygary @WandererUber @Hoss But thanks to Nixon, America's thorium tech still looks like this instead of something ya could throw in a truck..
I have a real conflicted opinion about Nixon because he signed off on a lot of bad policies but was allegedly ultra based in private. Surely this was somehow Kissinger's fault.
The Nixon tapes are a window in to a soul that was too based for his time even.
*Advisors arguing about the war*
Nixon: Why don't we just nuke the gooks?
*uncomfortably long silence*
Kissenger: Mr President...that may be excessive

@CobaltSasquatch @Hoss @Dudebro @weknowwhygary @WandererUber @egirlyuumimain Aye, He had a lot of great aspects, but, like all the others, he was swayed by bombs that Mox reactors could make rather than the infinite power, lack of waste, and amazing efficiency of thorium... Plus, Thorium reactors don't give the US an excuse to invade, because they cant be used for enrichment..
@HonkHonkBoom @CobaltSasquatch @Dudebro @weknowwhygary @WandererUber @egirlyuumimain @Hoss thorium reactors fail deadly and that's their major problem (not that that stopped Russia from building RBMKs)
@sapphire @CobaltSasquatch @Dudebro @weknowwhygary @HonkHonkBoom @egirlyuumimain @Hoss I thought the whole idea of Thorium (salt) reactors was that they cool and stop themselves without continuous power flow somehow? Wasn't there some type of freeze plug or something or other that would drain the molten material if the power went out?
@WandererUber @sapphire @CobaltSasquatch @Dudebro @weknowwhygary @HonkHonkBoom @Hoss Thorium reactors are soyence psuedo magic gobilty gook
They seemingly do anything and everything, but are somehow unable to be built. See also cold fusion

@egirlyuumimain @WandererUber @CobaltSasquatch @Dudebro @weknowwhygary @HonkHonkBoom @Hoss @sapphire
Oakridge built 2 of them in the iirc late 50s - early 60s and ran them for years successfully, but they could never produce plutonium from the decay chain, so they axed the whole program. Can't have 'civilian' power sources that can't double as a redundant icbm payload supply chain 🤷♀️
Anyway, last decade or so several new thorium projects have been underway, I think there are 2 or 3 operational test reactors, and the first production unit has been completed recently.
@nicholas @CobaltSasquatch @Dudebro @weknowwhygary @HonkHonkBoom @WandererUber @egirlyuumimain @Hoss yeah India has been scamming research funds for years for it and China claims they have one
