@waifu @theorytoe I can rightly be accused of a "trust the science" type but having been obese in the past I can say that any attempts to side step "fewer calories, more activity" as a paradigm is absolutely doomed. Barring wide scale genetic reengineering of the human genome to simply not attempt to store excess energy, and a drug is not going to do that.

@pwm @theorytoe @waifu my unpopular take (unpopular with any group) is that eating meat is fine and normal *BUT* its not fine and normal to have "every meal is meat based", everyone can stand to eat more plants.
@prettygood @theorytoe @waifu Americans do not get enough fiber. Often times the meats are paired with starch as a "vegetable" but they fail completely on this aspect. Beans or leafy greens would go a long way. Personally I would eat sauteed spinach every day, and any other day you can just eat a salad to vary things up
