Using Firefox at this point can be used as a pass/fail IQ test. Imagine using a browser that deliberately breaks websites.

24@mangeurdenuage I'm serious about this btw. You've seen their incompetence first hand and after they've been notified of breaking websites with their idiotic decisions, they keep doing them anyway.
Now a Firefox user falls into two camps:
a) masochist that enjoys using a deteriorating product that is more broken with every release
b) an idiot blinded by their "open internet" smoke screen behind which only incompetence and controlled opposition is hiding
Remember how WebKit/Safari was clowned on for years even by Apple users for being a barely usable browser? That is Firefox now.

>complain about how people aren't as fast as gg overlord, gg who's the one imposing the rhythm amongst many evils
That's all there is to it. There's no from the ground solution because gg is constantly changing the game, you can't either fork chrome as an anti chrome move as it will only further the market share and value of gg.
>we will never sell your data
And what about "Don't be evil" ?
>is beyond my understanding
Maybe because some people currently know the context is shit. Maybe because the only lesser evil choice is not especially to "side" "defend" mozilla but using the less morally corrupt maintainers of the tools as I already pointed out.
In any case it needs financing. So either you do what's needed and you can finance with money a fork or you participate in manpower or telemetry if you don't have manpower.
See, that's the thing. In a sane world, when somebody says fuck you to their core userbase, the users wouldn't defend the tyrants actions and go somewhere else. But here we are. "I guess the other guy is more evil, so I'll accept this slightly lesser evil controlled by the bigger evil." Maybe I'm just weird, but I don't accept the lesser evil just because there's a bigger evil in the room as well.
@phnt i use it because chrome doesn't support a thing i do (freetype patchign) and i dont feel like cumpiling chromium. might have to get rid of it and go back to chrome maybe...
@phnt maybe i could ask the brave devs to implement smth
@pettanko @phnt @mangeurdenuage haev you tried vibecoding a replacement? probably it works. i vibecoded a tampermonkey script and it worked great after a small fix.
@phnt @syzygy @mangeurdenuage why wouldn't librewolf be an option? that telemetry crap with firefox is alr not an issue on it
