It's weird how we (in developed countries) live in a world where true scarcity doesn't exist and we have ready access to unimaginable luxuries, yet functioning in society is demeaning and emotionally and spiritually brutalising to a degree that can't really be put into words

@nyx He did and he had some excellent points but those are far outweighed by the fact that every time anyone ever tried to put his ideas into practice it almost invariably resulted in something worse than before; plus dialectical materialism is total horseshit

I'm quite sympathetic to a lot of leftist ideas but Marx and communism are just not good

@scathach @nyx idk about “worse than before.” what came before was generally dogshit

@lizzie @nyx It varies by case but most communist revolutions were an initial improvement followed by a rapid backslide to something way worse than before, the only exception I can think of off the top of my head is Vietnam and maybe the DDR
