@mrsaturday @coolboymew @sun the other problem is that internet artists want to be in the "big club", especially the animators who either want to be picked up by a studio or by some outfit like Glitch Productions.

They're worried about offending other people like that and especially the big wigs. Nevermind the fact that social media isn't like Furaffinity/NG where the admins have "skin in the game" with regards to online community drama.

@mrsaturday @coolboymew @sun Also I should add something else: internet artists are petty and spiteful towards anyone who even gets too successful in that sphere and might have stepped on some people along the way.

Look at Vivziepop, many of the people who shit on her do it because she managed to break out of that scene. There's some valid reasons to shit on her or her work, but they've been overshadowed by the BlueSky people screeching at her wishing that they could be in her shoes with a big name production.

Or how a problematic artist who drew edgy shit a few years ago will always have someone tagging along every time someone features his art to dump the Google Doc/screenshots. To them, it's no different than an artist actually doing heinous shit.

@mrsaturday @coolboymew @sun Then on the other hand you have the right-wing sphere which either makes obvious political shit (see: Vox Day, the Comicsgate bunch), or something mid-at-best. Some of them are retired and only decided to be chuddy after they moved on from the industry, but their creative output isn't the same as it was back in the day. What has Marty O Donnell done since being the Halo OST guy, or the Earthworm Jim guy?

It makes artists who want to be chuddy have a uphill battle because they are not going to get the same amount of money or e-fame they would be if they said the lines or even stayed silent. I've seen in chats "struggle artists" as I call them lament this and basically admit that they went left wing because nobody on the right would lift a finger, and they felt as if they would make more money/be more talked about if they went the other way.

That's not counting the artists who refuse to try because they feel that the tim heideckers and blockhead joes of the world are going to gatekeep them at any turn. World Peace flaming out was a huge blackpill, and people were split on if that interview was either Sam nuking his chances of being famous or the showbiz version of the KLF Grindcore award show concert. Even 10+ years later, I still feel this blackpilling mindset going on.

Nobody ever breaks down those events of people getting canceled like the Air Crash Investigation show or the USCSB YouTube channel. Instead they think that anything that happens is a result of the powers that be trying to keep someone they liked down. For every person saying Sam needed a tard wrangler/PR guy to keep him from stunts like the interview or powerleveling on Twitter, there were people who were also convinced it was solely Adult Swim trying to stop him.

I hate this street shitting motherfucker so goddamn much that basically the only outcome I actually care about on November 3rd is that this faggot gets absolutely wrecked in Ohio. I don't know anything about Acton aside from a reasonable assumption that she's standard issue Democrat foid #53246. I don't care about her at all, this is about Vivek being made to eat shit, and not in the way he'd enjoy.

@coolboymew @sendpaws @mrsaturday @sun many such cases

Also on the topic of this thread in general, my 2c: I like the art of hades. First one more than the second but both are nice overall. I think that most characters are attractive (not always sexy, they’re not the same) and I like the angular faces. You people ever seen a Greek? Angular faces.

However I agree with sun in that despite the clear technical skill and intent of the artist, something about the art still falls short. That naked woman (Aphrodite?) is a good example. That’s good art, tech wise. The design is good too. But… it doesn’t convey anything to me, really. “Concept art” is an interesting and I think apt comparison

It is also hard to deny that they went out of their way to uglify certain characters in the name of diversity. You may also notice that they only did this to women - the men are almost universally conventionally attractive hotties.
