@toiletpaper its a rare thing for me to do any censorious activities, but i'm honestly just goddamn tired.

i think after pirate software had his little perpetual meltdown i laughed for the first couple days and then it was just really sad how this was just some like ongoing milking of attention. like yeah the guy keeps saying dumb shit, but he keeps getting marketing out of it, and an entire class of parasites get their own ad views and patreon bux covering it, and i just said enough.

i stopped even scrolling the home timeline because its always trump this trump that like jesus fucking christ shut the fuck up already
@icedquinn

I relate. I subscribe to Trump's X feed and a few others related, but find myself just scrolling past 99.999% of it each day without the slightest desire to read his latest half-baked narcissistic screed. Usually I like to at least know wtf is going on in the world, but lately it's just grown incredibly tiresome and pointless. Same with all the shitcasters who rant about it. I sincerely dgaf about the opinion of some juvenile in his pajamas making $1million a month streaming bs online from his mom's basement. I'm guessing I post about US politics about once a week now or so, apart from reposting the odd sarcastic meme. Of course it helps I have more going on offline atm and less time to doom scroll on fedi all day. With few exceptions ime, politics has generally always been the pass time of low IQ people who think their opinions matter and their own shit doesn't stink.
@Alex i can pretty much plot with this emoji :blobcatdeficit: the amount of interaction i have here since i stopped engaging in politics most of the time.

i think in the past 3 weeks i got like 2-3 replies in total at all while repeatedly posting about doing creative shit again.

i'm just honestly staring like why the fuck do i do anything, nothing here matters.
@toiletpaper @Ree he said ross could quote "eat my whole ass" about the stop killing games initiative. then he doubled down every time the internet said he was wrong. now he plays victim about internet crazies going through his whole life history and pointing out pirate has been nothing but an eboy fraud his whole career with receipts.

cynically i think he knows exactly what he was doing the whole time.

the difficulty with fedi is that visibility is hard to get, so even when there is a number of people interested in a topic, it's hard to actually have their posts on that topic reach each other. everyones kind of bubbled up. hashtags are basically useless here, search functions are incomplete at best, you've just gotta kind of hope your posts reach their target audience. it's rough. i used to instance hop a lot and fedi's like a completely different place on some instances.

@toiletpaper @Ree well the roomate girl was there because she used to work at twitch and people were asking if he was going to face any penalties for defrauding hype trains. pirate accidentally doxxed his discord collusion with a mod to use sockpuppets to buy subs whenever the hype train ran low.

vedal (neurosama's host) broke the record WHILE SLEEPING, and thors over there doing a fraud. hilarious as fuck. australian man with fake waifu girl beat his fucking ass.
@toiletpaper @Ree basically pirate is a serial retard (who worked at blizzard for seven years) and misrepresents everything he's ever done. he likes to go from hardcore pvp to hardcore pvp worlds and when his goonswarm strats inevitably fail he's a victim and changes games.

he chooses this life, mind you, nobody MAKES somebody play ultra hardcore getfukt pvp games.

vedal is one windy boy who hooked a vtuber up to a gpt model and has sold at least two rounds of plushes & legitimately set twitch records just being a fuckin nerd.
@icedquinn @Ree

Yeah. That's not really my kind of drama tbh. I stopped paying much attention to gamer shit after #gamergate. Even then I got most of my ammunition from encyclopedia dramatica, because besides being factually true, it was also lulzy af. Besides, I don't think anyone's too interested in me playing xgalaga or gnugo when I'm bored, and I'm not so into gaming that I'd care what anyone else thinks about it.
@toiletpaper @Ree i knew people at the time who liked him and i watched him a little to see what i could learn about game development (nothing.) otherwise i vaguely care from a biz standpoint, but after a month of streaming to zero viewers i also don't care about the biz. i helped ferret with some stuff and he's off with his more important friends now and we don't really talk.
@Alex @icedquinn

*nods*. I personally don't worry too much about engagement. I treat fedi more like a personal diary and bookmarking service than I do an attempt to socialise online. It's nice when it occasionally happens, but it's not my expectation.

And yeah, I've done a tour around various other instances, and usually I'm lucky if I can comment on one person's post before I get summarily deleted from the instance. Too many libtarded snowflakes. SPW is the only welcome place with a half decent UX that I've found thus far. I could of course do a single-user instance, but seems like a lot of hassle for what it's worth.
@Alex @icedquinn @Ree

It's "wight", which means "human being" in Old English. A play on words that I acknowledge goes over many people's heads because their minds instantly start replaying Nazi salutes and HH based purely on the homophony. Which was kinda the point tbh. I'm only interested in engaging with people who are able to use their brain.

But no, I usually choose a tamer username on other instances.
