I know I've been on the "Gamergate put Trump in the White House" wagon for a while, but as I do more retrospectives I've come to the conclusion that the internet overinflated its own ego. I now lean towards the whole Trump thing being a huge set up, including and especially the anti-Trumpism from the leftist media.
Maybe. I think the anti trumpers were legit in 2016, but not as much recently. I think they really fizzled out or in Shapiros case found a way to control him

1Think about it from the American Rebel perspective: they act like they hate Trump, call him Nazi and everything under the sun, so the rebel in us says "Well, shit, in that case he has my vote!" Obama left office with loads of resentment among the voter base, so what better way to defuse it than put up a sleazebag who talks big and swaggers like a boss? Factor in the true hatred from the feminist left, who hate all White Men and thus the genuine hatred, and you get a country at war with itself with both sides supporting false idols. To me, it was rigged from the start.
