Wednesday morning #headlines recap

Hormuz blockade reality gap: CENTCOM vs. satellite data. CENTCOM claims zero breaches in first 24 hours. Maritime tracking firms Kpler and TankerTrackers identify multiple vessels that transited anyway, including a sanctioned VLCC supertanker entering Iran with AIS switched on.

Literally hours after launching his own “blockade”, Trump boasted that a record number of ships had actually transited through the Strait. There aren’t enough dimensions to describe the chess he’s playing.

Insiders tell the same story over and over: low-impulse-control, short-term-thinking Trump is addicted to the “quick fix”, dopamine bumps he can put up on the score board for insta-PR-boosting headlines. As if to confirm the story: Trump says to Maria Bartiromo, Iran war is ‘over’ as Vance prepares for second round of peace talks in Pakistan. The Influencer in Chief.

Hezbollah-Israel: IDF soldiers reportedly lured into explosive trap in Bint Jbeil. Reports of a "serious security incident" where soldiers were lured into a rigged building that was detonated. Take your good news where you can find it.

Iraq has started exporting fuel oil via tanker trucks across the Syrian desert to the Mediterranean port of Banyas.

Saudi FM: "The era of relying on the US has ended". Trump has driven away the only real ally we had in the Middle East.

Russia launches large-scale offensive on all fronts, crosses into Sumy region. Russian forces crossed the international border on a wide front, capturing multiple settlements. Ukrainian forces retreating in several sectors. Hey look, they’re still fighting in Ukraine.

Vance promises an investigation into to pizzagate while acting Attorney General Todd Blanche tells Americans he will not be releasing the rest of the Epstein files. What an absolute joke.

Outrage in Virginia as Governor (((Abigail Spanberger))) signs HB 965 into law, joining the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact. The measure would award the state's 13 electoral votes to the winner of the national popular vote—regardless of how Virginians actually vote in a presidential election. Keep it up jews, your time is coming.

In a 2-1 vote, a D.C. Circuit panel has issued an extraordinary writ of mandamus, ordering Judge Boasberg to terminate his criminal contempt probe into the Trump administration’s transfer of alleged Tren de Aragua members to El Salvador. Good news, but distressing that one judge effectively voted in favor of re-admitting violent illegals.

Remember the guy who was going to testify against Sam Altman’s OpenAI, and show how it was just stealing copyrighted materials in order to profit? Yeah, his autopsy was completely botched.

Be sure to take some time today to relax and enjoy yourself today…

The only way for 15 ships to police a blockade is to:
1. Get in closer to the bottleneck strait
2. Sink ships on sight in their exclusion zone

This is one of those ideas common with this admin where it has limited intended effect but serves to punish the innocent bystanders who are just trying to live their lives and conduct legitimate business, like most government policy.
The latter would be the final act of geopolitical suicide, and the former is impossible because then we'll be bringing home fewer than 15 ships.

Democracy working as intended.
