@Terry it leaves out probably the most important use - fertilizer.

natural gas -> nitrogen based fertilizer
crude oil -> sulfur -> phosphorus fertilizer

also various sulfur byproducts of crude oil are very acidic and reconstituted to sulfuric acid and used for all sorts of mining (copper, cobolt, gold etc)
@Terry Apparently the sulfur extracted from oil is used to make sulfuric acid which is essential for refining some industrial metals from ores...

--Sulfuric acid can be used in the refining process of certain metal ores, particularly for extracting metals like copper and silver. It helps dissolve the metal compounds, allowing for further processing and purification of the metals.
@Appelmoesje @Terry Kinda funny, one of the few things they can't make from hemp oil is forever plastic, everything they make from it biodegrades, so, yeah, we are still stuck with it for some things... But hey! Good news! The US potentially has the largest oil reserve on earth at gull island, untapped. That they refuse to touch until the rest of the world is pumped dry, at least according to Lindsey Williams ..
