3@sun@shitposter.world Calling a specific branch of Christianity bad implies that other branches are good. All organized religion is bad actually and only exists to divide us.
@SuperDicq @sun shinto ass nigga
@menherahair@eientei.org @sun@shitposter.world Shinto isn't as bad as most religions, as it's fully decentralized and it doesn't really impact daily life of people that much. I still don't actually believe in it though.

@SuperDicq @menherahair shinto was heavily utilized by the japanese government as a nationalistic state religion to justify racism and imperialism
@SuperDicq @menherahair it's an explicitly ethnic religion btw its 100% tied to japanese islands and ethnicities, there's like two non japanese shinto priests worldwide and they're not recognized by most other shinto

It's pretty normal in Pagan (ie. non-Abrahamic) religions to have an ethnic focus. But at the same time basically all of them draw influences and incorporate elements including deities and spirits from neighbouring groups. Shinto has a whole slew of kami which originated from China, Korea, India, etc. Even the word "kami" is from "kamuy" which is Ainu. Pagan attitudes towards foreigners varies, with some groups being very insular, and other groups being quite inclusive, even within European Paganism. When there's no central authority to dictate a person's authenticity, it's left up to the specific priesthood/tradition who train and initiate the person. But when a religion gets intertwined with centralised state authority/registration then it can take longer to untangle, especially if subsidies are involved.

@sun @menherahair @SuperDicq whats wrong with in group preference? calling it 'racism' is bigotry in itself, and i'd say its even worse if people subscribe to such bigotry and anti preference behavior
who the fuck are others to assume they can tell another human being how they can think and live
>dat person is raycis
then stay the fuck away from them and shut the fuck up
not sperging on you sun just really fuckin tired of racism being treated like its a thing because some groups of shit bags dont like tthey get treated how the content of their character demands

@sun @SuperDicq @menherahair this is wrong. basically everything written about japanese shinto in english is wrong though so i dont blame you, but if you want to know more you will have to read about 神仏分離. japanese sources on 国家神道 contradict western 'state shinto' fiction.
i suggest not talking about this topic until youve learned more about meiji era history

@sun the spook of the 'national shinto religion' was used by the GHQ to purge japan of it's entirely secular civil service culture and replace it with american pyramid with eye culture.
for those with eyes it can be seen in nagatacho and in the new constitution.

@mono I am very interested in learning things contrary to american propaganda which influences every aspect of american education
@sun i want to get the boys together to watch teito monogatari next weekend. it's got yokai and demons and shit but it's a good example of post-war japanese counter history aesthetics
