sitting in dialysis the other day and the nigga in the chair 2 chairs down from me is eating a big ass burger with fries and drinking a big ass soda as his blood is being cleaned.

I got sick of that on the medsurg floor. you’d have these people who are sick from their poor lifestyle choices getting to continue with those poor choices even after the consequences. diabetic amputees with a bedside table full of candy and sweets after another progressive amputation.

@colonelj @lich unrelated but I understand more medicine than my assigned doctor here in Spain, just basic reading, she is completely clueless. Not even most basic understanding, it’s worrying to say the least. I am talking basic diagnosis of infection, virus, she doesn’t understand for example why your tongue would be white. “Why is your tongue so white?” Actually got asked that with an infection. LMAO, this is not unique to me though

@SpectralActivity @colonelj @lich it's a shit show everywhere, I asked an urgent care doc for an asthma med refill once and she told me no because it was the wrong medication (it's not, she mixed up symbicort and albuterol)

@rees @colonelj @lich basic understanding of medicine is lacking, they do have a habit of suggesting medications that have serious side effects that aren't strictly necessary for a lot of physical symptoms. I know from family, gastritis medication will shorten lifespan for less symptoms for example
