@WandererUber @nugger @radians the reason why a crane is bad, is that you depend on other people, which defeats the "life hack" effect. The ideal thing would be modules/trailers that a normal person can handle alone, with nothing but simple tools available without a license.
Building codes/zoning and all that, can be so bad that you need to apply for permission to live in an RV on your own land, it depends on the country&state. Movies are highly deceptive in showing us people having freedoms that we have long lost in real life.
There are these videos "I built my own home in a forest" or "I live in a cave in the woods", but I suspect all of them have an "untold story" behind them and are not actually something you can legally do.
