Property taxes in the country are generally dirt cheap, however when business complex enter the area the more property taxes increases. This doesn't apply to the data center complex as they can easily score tax credits to lower the blow.
The farmers are completely fucked.
You are essentially taking 100k of land and making it into millions.

So farmers are pissed that datacenter they didn't want are coming in and raising their property taxes as the they are getting the burden
