one thing i noticed about ps3 in general is how much worse the performance in the average game is compared to ps2

@Inginsub they put all the performance in the cell coprocessors and gave it a kind of lame main processor and then gave you a crappy sdk and documentation for the first couple of years. I'm told the SDK and documentation was very good by the end but when it first launched the SDK was apparently very very limited

@Inginsub Cell is a clusterfuck so many just opted to running most if not all game logic on the PPE.

@Inginsub this is all folk knowledge I picked up from some people that know. another issue was that the multiple cell coprocessors demanded multiprocessing and at that point most engines and most developers were used to single threaded design.

the darkness is good (the shooter part is good, darkness powers seem like an autistic distraction)

devil may cry 4 is good

it took me 4 attempts to beat the first boss (demon hunter difficulty) because i thought you restore health by doing flashy combos instead of collecting green orbs (also i didn’t even need healing on the fourth attempt)

there's a bug in the game where if you complete some side quest, one of the maps stops loading in the last chapter, and you need to restart whatever chapter you completed it in. apparently the ps3 version was supposed to be the only one not affected, but i hit it anyway
