I remember when I was like 8 I came home from communist indoctrination and over the dinner table told my parents the land our house was on was stolen and we should give it back. They just lolled at me which inoculated me against that kind of thing forever.

4School also had me in terror of global warming like it was going to kill everyone in the very immediate future. This was the era of “An inconvenient Truth” and “The Day After Tomorrow"
@Ghislaine >global warming like it was going to kill everyone
When I was in school the mantra was, if we cut down the trees in the amazon, earth/we will choke to death, fucking retarded

@Titanbreakerkun @Ghislaine There was about a week in elementary when they taught us about acid rain. If there was a drop of water on the ground when recess rolled around there were full on inconsolable crying tantrums because we all thought the teachers were trying to send us outside to kill or injure us. Eventually they had to tell the truth that it wasn't a big deal and not to worry at all, but lol for that first week.
@Ghislaine growing up, I read a science book that said methane fireballs would be erupting out of the ocean within a few decades, due of course to climate change
