Yeah, basically, there has been a big push for awhile to make it like she discovered the helix structure of DNA (and not Watson and Crick). She died trying to treat her own cancer too, if I remember correctly.
Any time I hear stories like that, it makes me think it was her “jewish retirement” — so as to discourage people from seeking safer cancer treatments than chemo.
No, I think she really had ovarian cancer, caught it early but did nothing to treat it for years, and then died a very painful death while using homeopathy to treat it once it was too late. She wasn't a famous or important scientist, her only note was that some of her pictures were cited by Watson and Crick, and since they've long since fallen out of favor, they are desperately trying to rewrite history.
