They did actually used to beg for money a lot less. Their costs are out of control now because the Wikimedia foundation are wasteful. Yet despite their seeming desperation when asking for money, donor funding still always exceed their absurd requirements. (For example, donations surpassed their spending in 2024-25 by $17,500,000)

Flavour of the month. In this case, the FOTM is whatever the fictional girl they're gooning to this month. Examples off the top of my head would be Ashley from TCOAAL, or Brazilian Miku. I'm kind of blanking at the moment, mostly because they're all so forgettable, but I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. They'll goon over a character for 1-3 weeks, then it'll die off after every twitter artist has completely milked the trend dry.

I get what you mean, sorta. The style itself doesn't really evoke much emotion in me, but I can appreciate that it's well made.

In fairness, the one in the top left of the grid appears to be a CG for a specific bath scene, her regular portrait isn't too weird. The one in the bottom left is also cute.
The ones on the right are definitely lesbian-esque though, especially the bottom right.
