I bet it's an awesome feeling to get to live the pioneer life. Like a settler in a new land, starting from scratch. You should be getting raided by the natives any day now.
an electrified perimeter fence will discourage coyotes, foxes, and dogs pretty much completely. racoons are tougher and bobcats/mountain lions require chiggs to be completely enclosed. but we solved our significant predator problem with $300 of electric fencing
