I've seen prefab house designs like that. Here're a couple examples off the top of my head.

A couple different friends of mine (one in USA, one in Canada) also have designs like this, though the prototypes took a lot more work to build (typical of R&D). But in principal once the manufacturing is nailed down, the components are prefabbed fairly rapidly and just snap together with some standardised fasteners. I also have thoughts on similar stuff, but it may be a while before I can scrape together funds to build a prototype. I have smaller and more achievable plans which will integrate which I can work on in the mean time (eg. self-contained prefab off-grid bathroom/shower pods, etc).
