I'm sure the Hakenkreuz was inspired by the Swastika in some respect, but also bear in mind that the symbol originated (at least visa-vis archaeology) in Europe about 12,000 years ago, and has been ubiquitous on every corner of the planet in every major culture since time immemorial. Europe and Euro-America are no exceptions.

Speaking personally, it pisses me off that a handful of decades of Jewish whining and crocodile tears has robbed our cultures of the use of one of our oldest sacred symbols. When you compare the death toll and level of bigotry of the Nazi regime to that of Abrahamic religions/cultures, it's barely even comparable in scale. In my opinion Jews have lost the right to complain about it, to the extent they ever deservedly had that right in the first place. If anything it should be their own symbols (star of david, cross, and star/crescent) which are outlawed as symbols of hate.
