4@Humpleupagus @adequate I believe it's a pasta. I hope it is. Please.
@Wiz @Humpleupagus @adequate I mean, Red Letter Media seemed to have a similar reaction. My immediate reflex is to yell shill
@mitchconner @Humpleupagus @adequate @Wiz RLM will say something is okayish and then a year later pan it in asides on other reviews, so that's how they do things. But they both said they really liked it so it doesn't apply. They won't call out obvious bullshit but kidn of like mushroom soup says, a movie with stupid DEI shit in it can sometimes still be good
@sun @mitchconner @Humpleupagus @Wiz @adequate RLM's priority is about whether it's well made, competent, coherent, structured, engaging, regardless of the level of brainwashing in it that is almost bog standard in hollyqueird. There are a lot of very clearly dogshit insane stupid movies that they've praised for various reasons, and I think a lot of it is the critic's disease, when you see almost every movie that comes out, anything that doesn't completely suck and isn't riddled with incompetence and mistakes and bad editing and so on, the critic will enjoy more because they see too much other stuff to compare it to.

@thomasroiloup @Humpleupagus @Wiz @adequate @mitchconner they just don't want to wade into the culture wars because that's not the audience they want, which is smart because whether someone is right or wrong about woke, the channels that focus on that are cancer
@sun @Humpleupagus @Wiz @adequate @mitchconner I wouldn't even mind a channel that is against woke as long as it wasn't pretending, but pretty much all of them are pretending.

RLM doesn't join in the rage bait too much, which is nice to some extent. I agree that they tend to favor technical aspects, technique, well written plot, over culture war sound bites. Jeremy Jahns also liked the movie. It is possible that Hollywood made another movie for itself and its critics.
@fkq1q2r2 @thomasroiloup @sun @Humpleupagus @Wiz @adequate yeah the dei part is one thing but I've just come across so few video reviews that said it was an engaging well made movie. And there's all the drama about empty fully booked theaters, the few people who do show up getting forced into the worst seats regardless
@mitchconner @Humpleupagus @fkq1q2r2 @adequate @thomasroiloup @Wiz I don't believe the empty booked theater claims, sounds like bullshit
@sun @mitchconner @Humpleupagus @Wiz @adequate @fkq1q2r2 To be honest, I don't even know who goes to movie theaters anymore. Once I realized I can just rent almost anything I would ever want to see back in the late 90s, and I could have a TV as big as my field of vision in the late 2000s, and I never had to share space among the NormiePigCattle since birth, I never needed to go to any theater ever again.
@thomasroiloup @Humpleupagus @fkq1q2r2 @adequate @sun @Wiz found something cool https://walzr.com/empty-screenings
The empty theaters claim is interesting. There was a Christian animed film that supposedly did very well this year and opponents said someone brought all the tickets to that too. Who knows.

@mitchconner @Humpleupagus @fkq1q2r2 @adequate @thomasroiloup @Wiz I think its like vote fraud, everybody makes the claim when they're on the "losing" side.
