@sun i have the keychron k6 got it about 4 years ago, still works like a charm i love it
@sun We going capacitor-geddon with mouse switches now.
@sun i have M6-A4 and it's been working really well for me, no misfiring, kinda want to get another one for my steambox
@FrailLeaf @sun it's like the capacitor plague, good spring switches are rare now, plague on the industry
@FrailLeaf for the record: This failing mouse is the M3, and I started using it in April.
@jaff I have two keyboards from them, love them both. The switches are replaceable.
@i @FrailLeaf I can't tolerate this much longer, any recs for a replacement?
@sun @FrailLeaf i manually resolder a bloody mouse v8m from a 50pcs bag of old stock, so no, i don't have any recs
@i @FrailLeaf I had a really good logitech from years ago and I kept three spares on hand, sadly they finally ran out. So, I appreciate the system
@sun I've been using a redragon m908 for a year with no issues. Before that I suffered through two razers and a logitech that each developed really annoying clicking issues way too quickly.
@sun @i @FrailLeaf logi mice are really nice, even if I have a disdain for the software they come with. I've been through two G502s in my time. Currently also using a keychron mouse so I got no other reccs, I'm afraid ![]()
@sun @i @FrailLeaf How long before someone straps two of those low-profile switches to an optical sensor and fixes the industry?
@FrailLeaf Just checked my purchase history. I also bought an M6 in early 2024 and it still works fine (according to my brother, who currently uses it) Seeing if I can get a warranty replacement or something.
@VD15 @FrailLeaf @sun people already do mods like this, you can buy one like https://www.lofree.co/products/lofree-touch-pbt-wireless-mouse too
@sun @i @FrailLeaf you can't have g600 successor because you just can't ok
I had one go bad and then I bought like four of them and the last two had to be imported from japan. they still sell it there as the g600t and it's basically the same

@goatmeal @FrailLeaf @i I found an import version for 100~ might consider it, that was the best mouse I ever had
@sun @goatmeal @i @FrailLeaf I bought a G502 Hero used a couple weeks ago for my used ROG Ally. Seems to work nice.
@goatmeal @FrailLeaf @i looks like it sends special unique keycodes you can remap, without special driver, on macos. it took very particular web search to find out it didn't actually need anything special.
@sun i have a g502 that i've had for a few years at least. it used to have textured rubber but it's been worn smooth, and it's even worn away to the metal on the pinky rest. still works, though.
@i @VD15 @FrailLeaf @sun Its suprising that there is no open source gaming mouse. FOSS control software. You select switches. 3d print shell.
