I'm actually serious about the wilderness survival stuff I don't know what the fuck the economy is going to become after this but one thing I know for sure is that the US is just going to do nothing and let people starve

@RustyCrab The AI "thought-leader" types are sleepwalking into catastrophe, if they actually achieve their stated goals without making serious steps to mitigate the economic fallout ("we'll ask AGI" is a bad joke), they're setting themselves up for violent backlash and civil unrest on an insane scale
@scathach i dont think AGI is coming but theres a combination of factors thats going to completely annihilate the job market for US citizens. Unlike places like china we have zero safeguards in place and we have no collective will to put them in place.
@RustyCrab I honestly don't think AI is going to have much of an impact on the job market
Even if I'm wrong though I'm still much better prepared for that possibility than 99% of Americans, so I'm not worried about it at all

@scathach @RustyCrab I think things are gonna be really bad next 20 years
@sun @RustyCrab Yeah I think so too, but I don't think it's going to be because of AI
@scathach @sun AI is a force multiplier like a gun. Hire someone competent and they can do incredible things. Do what US companies are doing now and youre going to have an impressively large infrastructure of shit that doesnt work. Despite this it will drag along at a minimal level and give the guys at the top enough excuse to keep on course.
China will rocket past us while we sit idle. I dont think you're going to like what a Chinese century looks like. Shrimp and I disagree on that.

@RustyCrab @sun @scathach people think I'm joking about supporting the Taliban. Better option than zog in the USA that's for sure
@sensei@tsundere.love @RustyCrab@clubcyberia.co @sun@shitposter.world @scathach@stereophonic.space the main reason the taliban was able to gain support locally in afghanistan is that they're anti-child rape while the US-backed militias were obsessed with having boy sex slaves. This started with the mujahideen which were into all kinds of rape and sexual sadism who the US gave millions upon millions of dollars to in training and weapons (they had a big terrorist rapist training facility in new york and other places).
Anyway some of the US forces took this knowledge home with them and now in addition to being a major hub for narco trafficking, Fort Bragg is also an epicenter of child sex trafficking!

@anemone @scathach @RustyCrab @sensei child rape is more afghani than Islam and itโs always been there
@sun@shitposter.world @scathach@stereophonic.space @RustyCrab@clubcyberia.co @sensei@tsundere.love it was pretty rare in afghanistan until the mujahadeen took power and the general public has never supported it. "It's in their culture" has been the US lien to justify it, not the reality. it IS more common in tajikastan where a lot of the mujahadeen were imported from, but not afghanistan
@anemone @scathach @RustyCrab @sensei I am pretty sure you're just repeating propaganda from a different source, its similar to iran where there was civilization in bigger cities but as soon as you moved further out it was just rural afhganistan where nothing changed for centuries
@sun@shitposter.world @scathach@stereophonic.space @RustyCrab@clubcyberia.co @sensei@tsundere.love you could make the argument that the increase during the 80s was simply a product of war but that seems like a cop out given that it was so widely tolerated by the US
@anemone @scathach @RustyCrab @sensei its like anywhere else, you can suppress it legally but as soon as that pressure is gone it just comes right back immediately
@sun@shitposter.world @scathach@stereophonic.space @RustyCrab@clubcyberia.co @sensei@tsundere.love Again, seems like a cop-out given the taliban is doing more to suppress it than the Americans were
@sun@shitposter.world @scathach@stereophonic.space @RustyCrab@clubcyberia.co @sensei@tsundere.love its a common feature in a lot of cultures sadly, but do you not see the significance of the us (not the Soviets or the Taliban) supporting forces where its common practice?
@anemone @scathach @RustyCrab @sensei I don't think the usa has any ideological reason for that other than quickest path to goal. islam is just better suited to dominating the area and doesn't need it.

@anemone @RustyCrab @scathach @sensei I mean if you press me, sure it's interesting that wherever the usa dominates it destroys actual christians and actual muslims with degeneracy
