@sun if there is one single thing that you don't like about technology you should be mailing sam altman and sergey brin packages from an off grid cabin
@sun It's not like water wasn't used for data center cooling for, *checks notes*, more than a decade. Most Google-built data centers are water cooled, but suddenly it's a problem only now.
@pwm please spare me if you're only mad about it at this exact moment
@sun to build optimized hardware. seriously though i am mostly annoyed by the bubble economy. especially the fact that it might not burst
@grillchen I won't defend everything about the tech industry
@sun honestly I haven't been paying attention to what you've been being pissed and moaned on about today, this was posted in isolation as far I'm concerned. Probably people should not be complaining but they should still be mailing packages.
@sun but you're wasting your energy at being outraged about what is en vogue to be outraged about. Remember when it was (((techbros)))
same shit different smell and inhuman cattle will always be such.

@pwm oh it wasn't directed at you per se, sorry
@lolitechengineer @sun eli whitney doomed the united states with the cotton gin by keeping slavery economically viable, precipitating the events that led to the civil war and trapping americans with the negro menace (and those atrocities committed in its name by race communists) forever.
As an example of unforeseen consequences, the cotton gin is chief among them.

@sun I'm forced to work with computers and the shitty systems that is contains, but thankfully my work environment is very careful about implementing the New Thing that most everyone else co-opts without a second thought. The problem is that we still rely on M$ the great satan for too many things (read: more than zero), and that gives me whining permission by proxy
@sun ye I know, just don't waste your cycles. You can't argue with these clowns. Anger is useful inasmuch as it prompts action. Anything more than that and it's a waste.
@sun I think the concern is that datacenters drive up utility costs for those living in the vicinity
@sun Not enough complaints about reducing those spicy pillows.
