@RustyCrab cannot find any details on the full story but RIPE's DB does indeed fail to display AS details for this AS. All of the reasons on the link below all seem quite serious so either this faggot is being disingenuous (very possible) or someone is weaponing neutral infrastructure to push an agenda (also very possible).
It is disturbing when the latter is true, because it means that even "neutral" providers are under the gun of someone else's whims and that's unacceptable. I have the same issue with DNS, ICANN, etc.

I mean maybe I'm reading this wrong. But it sounds like they're about as neutral as the Dutch. Which begs the question why do other countries in the RIR agree to follow Dutch law? Like the EU couldn't have made a neutral embassy point and said that it's headquartered "here"?
Also why does anyone initially register with RIPE if you are trying to make "censorship" resistant social media? Like was it cheaper, did he get his IP block on sale or something? Because I'd rather have my ASN say I'm from Africa because you won't have to deal with this dumb shit.

ARIN just generally requires you be a business, RIPE sorta doesn't care so long as you have a sponsoring LIR. The most possibly theory is that he didn't want to go through the process of making an LLC or something and just cheated and went RIPE.
There is also an expectation that you maintain resources in your RIR but RIPE apparently doesn't care so long as you have *something* in Europe.

The only thing I can think of is that he cheaped out. You can get an privacy LLC in Wyoming for less than $500 and nest LLCs like an umbrella or some shit.
But he wanted that shit done fast or something, or he's genuinely stupid.

@splitshockvirus @RustyCrab Pretty sure you can do the same thing in Delaware and then have that entity own whatever businesses you need to own, with footprints in whatever states you need.
