@adequate @pwm how do you even get that kind of pattern? tabby vs black is usually one or the other but she looks like she's got both. she almost looks tortiseshell except that her patches are a more typical tabby brown than orange.

@adequate @pwm a cat can be patchy solid black and tabby orange, but never patchy solid black and tabby, because tabby vs solid is an either/or, and something about synthesizing pheomelanin (orange) rather than eumelanin (black) re-actives the tabby deposition pattern ONLY in the specific cells that synthesize it . Which is why that cat is so weird to me.
