there is a sentence that's in my head since i was 7 years old, that my grade teacher told me. It's so ingrained that i am forced to think it and about it every time i eat potato chips (or other crispy chips)

My grade school teacher said: "crisps are a food designed (implied maliciously) to be eaten more than you should. No food is junk food, but too much of a food is bad for you"

I've had the in depth debate countless times in my head over this simple and true, kind of throwaway statement.

It's almost a sort of cope, "i bought it and I'm eating, but I'm aware of it"

Occasionally, having finished a third or half a package of crisps by myself, the debate in my head makes me throw the rest into the garbage.

a curio of the mind. Without that one phrase said by my teacher, would i behave different? Or would i have simply found another sentence, plucked and snapped onto my neuron link chains to discuss my current diet choice over
