I don't like soccer, but it is nice to see my Fediverse feed talk about something other than the usual political doom n gloom.

Not that I've forgotten that we are ruled over by baby-eating devil-worshippers, but even pessimists need to take a break from complaining all the time.

Soccer is the bread and circus for the masses in Europe, and it has been for the longest time, hundreds of millions get fucked over daily and then on the weekend they go and get drunk, yell and fight with people over soccer, everyday third spaces are filled with conversations about the last game rather than important things.

In Europe being a soccer fan is seen as being dumb and a loser.
