the worst part is 100% of all the media is based on the fucking movie. the meme that the chief moron who made the film never read the book will never die.

@icedquinn he was proud that he was fucking with fascists by making a parody and never reading the book

@sun @icedquinn star ship troopers as a book is absurd once you get further into heinlens career any way, he dies a horny old sex pest whose last big work is a disturbing novel in which he imagines getting fucked 24/7 as a woman; this is the guy lecturing you on moral decay
mid career is best, like moon is a harsh mistress and stranger in a strange land

@noids @sun eh i read moon and troopers. i'm just sad none of the games will ever use the cool shit he actually wrote.

moon is kinda just a retelling of american revolutionism but claude is also bored.

@icedquinn @sun ive read starship, stranger in a strange land, moon is a harsh mistress, the cat that walks through walls, I will fear no evil(gross fucking book)
and then his disgusting works, like Friday and I will fear no evil
I had to put Friday down it was just like rape fantasy shit
I will fear no evil I slogged through hoping for some sorta message, but its just a perverted old man vaguely tied into the beginning of the moon is a harsh mistress

by the time of his death I think its unlikely he stood by anything he wrote in starship
