40 years later I still remember being dragged to some 'hot' restaurant by a gang of idiots (college students), waiting an hour to be seated and 45 minutes for the food to be served and it still makes me angry.

Few things worse than waiting for a table at a restaurant then waiting to be served then waiting for it to get there. Theres no food worth all of that. I would rather eat a gas station sandwich
I was just thinking about the completely mid Chinese joint we usually ate at. Lightning fast, friendly service, maybe a ten minute wait at most (they had tons of space), let us hang out for five hours so long as we kept ordering food and drinks, they always got a gigantic tip.
