Right now if you want to block the app you just have to filter on its name. I'm going to add a way to filter miniapps later, but the truth is that won't work on other servers.

@hakui its an open discussion on how to mark posts so that they can all be blocked.

@sun @hakui perhaps have the game posts have a designated special tag that can be used to filter them?

@adrint @sun muted posts still take up a small line on the timeline and i don't like to see too many of them

@hakui @adrint don't you have MRF capability? can block them from even getting federated to you

let's say a thread starts under one of those posts, i'd still want to know the context even if i didn't have any interest in the OP

@hakui @adrint this is a near-intractable problem, despite being conceptually very simple. the problem is there is nothing in the current systems that allow us to differentiate between a post made using an app (like a cellphone app) and a post made for a user from a game etc.

@sun @adrint well it's not a tech problem

if the user decides to dilute their percentage of posts i care about then there's less reason to continue following them

@sun @adrint make it a share button that needs to be clicked in order to post, instead of automating it

@hakui @adrint there is in fact a way I made it so you can open a filled in compose modal

@sun @adrint as long as there's some friction to it it'll cut down like 80% of the expected volume

@hakui @adrint I'll push a migration later on (not soon) that will make everyone's settings less nnoisy too
