@f0x You can put footnotes anywhere. You can even use them on fedi¹.

When is pleroma going to support LaTeX?

@subnetter @f0x @p when lain or hj or whoever is gonna develop a bdsm latex fetish

@lina @f0x @p @subnetter implying etc etc

@f0x mmm feetnotes

@subnetter @p @f0x pleroma postscript posts when

@subnetter @f0x I don't know, I hope never; I'd rather do troff.

@fey @subnetter @f0x Emperor Knuth has no clothes.

@theorytoe @fey @f0x @subnetter Nah, I have *opinions* on it.

Old workplace, I inherited a codebase; this was when I realized just how terrible JavaScript was, but the original author had found a way to make it worse: he had added a "Literate JS" compile step and the entire codebase was him jacking himself off about equations while the code didn't do any of the shit it was supposed to be able to do.

@p @theorytoe @f0x @fey @subnetter all coding languages need to just go away

@pernia @subnetter @f0x You can just attach things.

@rees @f0x @fey @subnetter @theorytoe No, C's nice. Go used to be nice.

@p @theorytoe @f0x @fey @subnetter nah just wirehead me and let me talk in binary and feed me dopamine

@rees @f0x @fey @subnetter @theorytoe You'll still need a notation. When God himself created the American Standard Code for Information Interchange, he decided the basic format for all code and technical documentation.

@p @theorytoe @f0x @fey @rees @subnetter what's shit about Go now? modules?

@p @theorytoe @f0x @rees @subnetter >the big man upstairs made ascii
this implies using csv instead of ascii's own information separators is a kind of minor blasphemy, which sounds correct so i am going to treat it as true.

@sicp @f0x @fey @rees @subnetter @theorytoe Yeah, that, plus the downloading binaries from Google, all that shit.

@p @theorytoe @f0x @sicp @fey @subnetter obviously the solution is to port npm to go

@rees @f0x @fey @sicp @subnetter @theorytoe If you do that then I will kill myself so hard that it will cause everyone except me to die.
