remember how before chat gippity came along it was common for people to say constraints make better products, usually with regard to old games or movies before CGI

@deprecated_ii I know people said that, however, I don't think it is true in a mechanical sense.
I'm pretty sure if you took those people, from that time, and gave them a better tool, it wouldn't hold them back.

@hazlin we've got plenty of evidence supporting the idea that constraints are good. an easy example is the star wars prequel trilogy, or the special editions of the original trilogy. lucas had more money and more technology, but every time he touched the original creation he made it worse
constraints force you to spend a lot of time on a problem, thinking about how to use your limited resources to get a good result. some people will spend a lot of time on problems anyway, but most people will not

@hazlin the idea that work needs to be finished is itself a constraint, one that has been completely abandoned

@deprecated_ii okay, now that is an excellent one xD
constraints ..., not that ai can't do this exact thing, but the confluence of ideas going into this work, would ai do this? ... or this?
@JollyR @deprecated_ii
It isn't that AI "can't" be used to make these things.
It is that the very nature of AI, mainly the result you get on the very first prompt, has a quality X. And, it would take a lot of work to get to 2X.
The user experiences intense "diminishing returns" as they work with the AI to get the results they want. The ROI is a continuously decreasing line after the first viable prompt return.
Where as with a limited or restricted tool. The amount of work to get to X can be greater than 2X, and even 3X may be attainable.
With the limited tools and constraints, you are in for the long haul from the beginning. The mind set is completely different.
It isn't that the AI cannot be useful, it is that it forces weak minded people into trash creative processes.

Sounds similar to how right to work laws gutted alot of skilled labor and dropped the quality in alot of professions.
