watched a youtube about why streaming videos suck so much, really interesting. basically the entire construction of the movie is based around super fine-grained streaming metrics. and those metrics say "make ocean's eleven, over and over and over again, and make sure something happens every 30 seconds or people will close the tab"

@sun@shitposter.world This tracks- i can't remember if it was you or I read it on my local forum. But I think it was a in relation to the last clooney movie, about how the audience attention span was basically nil, and you had to more or less explain wtf was happening in the movie every 30 minutes to keep retention.
@miscbrains @sun Man, we're fucked
>Movies are made for people with no attention span
>Video games are made with mostly 0 difficulty, along with a baby "I don't really want to play the game" mode
Go do something else jesus christ

@condret @miscbrains @sun No, I want these fuckers to do something else so that they can make movies for people who watch them, and video games for people who wants to actually play them

@sun @miscbrains @condret @coolboymew I remember when the term “content creator” started taking off and I really didn’t like it from the beginning, and I guess this is exactly why.
